Five steps to live by Bryan Liles

I’m all about organized confusion.  So through all the chaos, over the years, I’ve come up with five rules to life.  Since I haven’t shared anything in a while, I thought I would throw this out there.

Have passion – If you aren’t passionate about what you are doing, why are you doing it?

Have an enemy – Batman would have been a freak in tights with a cape without the likes of the Joker and the Penguin.  Having an enemy allows you to know what you stand for.

Get some sleep – Taking care of yourself is paramount.  Eat well, sleep well, and be concious about keeping your blood pressure down.

Smell the roses – Work, work, work might seem the par for the course, but every once in a while, you have to take a time out to reflect and enjoy everything you are creating and influencing.

Be happy – If you aren’t happy with what you are doing right now, perhaps you should leave.  You don’t deserve to be unhappy.  Also you unhappiness is contagious, and you don’t want to bring those around you down in your dump.

There it is.  This is what keeps Bryan ticking.

    Let me rank these:
    (1) Be happy
    (2) Have passion
    (3) Smell the roses
    (4) Get some sleep
    (5) Have an enemy (optional for Jonathan)

Sounds sensible, if a bit vague. Dunno if that's an intentional degree of privacy you want to maintain, but I'd be interested in hearing what the passion, enemy, roses, happiness and sleep situation — don't you have a baby? :) — are in your life these days. Follow-up post, maybe?
